We do offer a free dragon boat session for anyone thinking of joining us.
Because of the particular water we paddle in we do require anyone who wishes to dragon boat paddle to be able to swim 50m in a buoyancy aid. You do not have to have prior dragon boat experience. If you have had cancer treatment then you do need to be 3 months post treatment to join.
We do have other activities and welcome membership applications from anyone who wishes to join the Club.

Nordic Walking
Nordic walking has huge health benefits for everyone, not just breast cancer survivors. If you want to lose weight, improve cardiovascular health, protect your joints and use lots of muscles while you walk then Nordic Walking is for you.
Aquatics
As a group, we undertake water aerobics in Limerick Strand Hotel once a week. This is currently on hold due to COVID-19. We look forward to resuming it.
Helm Training
Once a year, or when needed, we send forward members for helm training with IDBA. Members can volunteer to train as helms and the committee decides who is put forward for formal training.
Kayaking
The Club has recently purchased 5 kayaks for members use in groups. Members who wish to participate in kayaking with the club must have Level 2 kayaking completed. Currently the Club is undertaking Level 2 training with Limerick Kayaking Academy.
3-Bridges Walking
We are so lucky to have beautiful river walking routes in Limerick City. Limerick Dragons has always led walking groups along the 3-bridges route. This is currently paused due to COVID-19 but we hope to return to it in the autumn.
Pool Side Training
Once a year our members undertake water safety training at a local pool in Limerick where we practice rescue drills and confidence building in wearing buoyancy aids and self-rescue. This is currently on pause due to COVID-19.
